Jamaica defeats Antigua and Haiti Tops Group B

Montego Bay, Jamaica – Group B in the Men’s Caribbean Cup saw host nation Jamaica defeats Antigua 3 -0 while Haiti defeated Martinique 3 – 0.*

Match: Haiti 3 – 0 Martinique

Tournament favorites Haiti got their first win after they defeated Martinique 3 goals to nil.

Haiti began to dominate possession in the early proceedings of the match as Martinique would start the match slow similar to Wednesday night but held well against the pressure as the first half ended 0 – 0.

The second half would not be so kind as Haiti struck on the 53nd minute with Wilde Guerrier. Martinique recovered well in the second half but the Haitian teams quality was too at times for Martinique.

Haiti would score a second goal when Kervens Belfort struck in the 63rd minute with after some good build up at edge of the box. Haiti would make it 3 – 0 as Kervens Belfort would score his second of the night in the 90th minute.

Match: Jamaica 3 – 0 Antigua & Barbuda

Host Jamaica defeated Antigua & Barbuda 3 – 0 in the feature match of day 4 in the Men’s Caribbean Cup. In the first half Antigua & Barbuda has most of the possession and created some opportunities that worried many supporters of the Reggaeboys.

But Jamaica would take control in the 30th minute as Kemar Lawrence would bang in a goal from in the box after captain Rodolph Austin’s free kick would force its way into to the as Lawrence made it 1 – 0 for Jamaica.

Things would continue to go the host nations way his great work down the right side by Dane Richards as he crossed in the box for Darren Mattocks in the 43rd to make 2 – 0 for Jamaica.

In the second half Jamaica would control most of the tempo in the match as Antigua looked to try and improve on their first half performance.

Jamaica would make it 3 – 0 in the 88th after a crossed ball would be headed home by skipper Rodolph Austin. Action continues tomorrow as Group A will come to close as Trinidad & Tobago faces defending champions Cuba at 8PM and French Guiana will face Curacao in the early kick off at 5:30 PM
